Tierra Verde Fl Parks & Recreation
The beautiful and popular Ft Desoto Park is located just minutes south of Tierra Verde. It has a beautiful beach, a dog-friendly beach, walking trails, bike trails, picnic areas, fishing piers and more. It is the largest park in the Pinellas County park system with 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected islands. It is inhabited by over 300 species of birds, so you will always be surprised by what you see. Fort De Soto was named America’s Top Beach for 2009 by Trip Advisor. Boating, camping, and beach-going activities are allowed in the public use areas of the park.
If you own a boat, Shell Key Preserve is another Pinellas County park that is waiting for you just two miles west of Tierra Verde by boat (no roads). The 1,800-acre park includes beautiful and unspoiled Shell Key which is one of the county's largest undeveloped barrier islands.

You are just north of Fort De Soto Park and just ten miles from the culture, art, and entertainment of Downtown St Petersburg. The Tampa International Airport is just 28 miles away, almost all by expressway.
