About the St Pete Beach Area & Things to Do

Location

The condos are located on the St Pete Beach barrier island west of Gulfport, Florida. St Pete Beach is the southernmost of the Pinellas Gulf Beaches. The beachfront condos are on the western side facing the Gulf of Mexico, and the east side is home to waterfront condos with great views of Boca Ciega Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway.

St Pete Beach Parks & Recreation

The main St Pete Beach Access point and public parking are located at 4700 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706. It's a busy facility but has over 200 parking spaces. It also provides restrooms, showers, and boardwalks to the sandy shores of St Pete Beach and the Gulf of Mexico.

Upham Beach Park is another popular public beach spot. It is located off Gulf Blvd at 68th Avenue. As you drive west to Beach Plaza Road, Upham Beach stretches from about 67th Avenue to 71st Avenue. There are restrooms, outdoor showers, and a food concession. The address is 6850 Beach Plaza, St Pete Beach, FL 33706.

The St Pete Beach Recreation Center is located at 7701 Boca Ciega Dr in St Pete Beach. It is a great recreational hub for the community. It has an aquatic center, fitness center, and recreational programs that range from youths to seniors. The heart of the aquatics program is a heated Olympic-sized swimming pool. There is also an attached children's play area. The pool area offers tables, lounge chairs, showers, and dressing rooms. The very affordable fitness center is open six days a week and has treadmills, recumbent bikes, ellipticals, strength training equipment, and more.

Restaurants

One of the really great things about St. Pete Beach is all the local restaurants. We love that there are so many local choices you don't have to eat at a chain. If you want a great view of the beach and St Pete Beach skyline, the Level 11 Rooftop Lounge is a great experience. It is part of the Grand Plaza Hotel dining experience. The other choice at the Grand Plaza is Spinners Rooftop Revolving Bistro and Lounge. It also provides a great view and a very elegant dining experience.

At the other extreme is the down-to-earth Woody’s Waterfront Cafe and Beach Bar. It offers Florida beach bar food in a rustic setting right on the water.  Woody's offers lots of local seafood choices.  Their smoked salmon, amberjack, or crawfish spread is just a delight when available. They also have a large selection of more traditional seafood, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. A few other choices include Willy’s Burgers and Booze just north of that on Corey Avenue and nearby The Shark Tales Waterfront Restaurant. Near Gulf Blvd, PJs Oyster Bar is a great off-water place for seafood.

What's Nearby?

Pass-A-Grille Beach is technically part of St Pete Beach, but it is a really unique part of our beaches. It has an Old Florida charm, unlike any other beach in the area. Pass-A-Grille is a favorite with locals and is known as a quaint, laid-back beach town. It's a fun place to walk the beach and visit the boutiques, ice cream shop, outdoor art market, restaurants, and fishing piers. It is the southernmost of the Pinellas County populated beaches.

Ft De Soto Park is just eight miles south at the very southern tip of Pinellas County. It is surrounded by water and is the largest park within the Pinellas County Park System. It has a beautiful beach for the public and also has one of the few dog-friendly beaches in the area. Take your dog, or have a blast just watching other dogs run along the shoreline and splash in the surf. There are nature trails, kayak rentals, bike trails, dog parks, fishing piers, and much more. It is a great place to spend the day.

Downtown St Petersburg is just 10 miles west. It is the premier restaurant and entertainment spot in our County. There is a huge selection of local restaurants, bars, and entertainment spots. Learn more at the thing to do section in our Downtown St Petersburg Condos page
