One of the nicest features of the community is the newly renovated Morningside Complex. The City of Clearwater invested nearly $6 million in this project, and as a resident of Clearwater, We believe it was money well spent. As a resident of Clearwater, you're eligible to purchase direct card that enables you to access all of the neat features and programs offered at the complex. The Olympic size pool offers hours of swimming for all, whether you're looking to cool off in the hot Florida weather, or just learning how to swim. Another new addition to the complex is the huge double gymnasium, complete with basketball courts. Wanna improve your three-point shot? Stop in and start practicing. If tennis is your game, there are four tennis courts that will be there when you're ready to go. The complex also has a well-stocked fitness center complete with free weights and a variety of novelists machines. This is our kind of place to work out.
What about the neighborhood kids? No need to worry, we haven't left out the little tikes. The complex has several areas for the kids of the community to have a place to play, from a playground located next to the pool to the indoor activities made available inside the complex. The staff at Morningside are well versed at making the youngsters' time spent there a fun experience. Oh yeah, there is a swimming area just for the toddlers too. One more thing, the complex also offers a summer camp program that runs eight weeks after school lets out. Book your spot ahead of time to ensure your child's participation.
School-aged children are able to attend two elementary schools depending on where they live in Morningside. Most will attend Plumb Elementary, home of the Pelicans. Others may attend Belcher Elementary, home of the Bobcats.
Oak Grove Middle School is where they spend sixth to eighth grade, and Clearwater High School is their zoned high school, yet there are other options available. Most other high schools have special programs available depending on what your students' needs are.
If you're hungry but don't want to cook, We highly recommend enjoying breakfast or lunch at Olga's. They have great food at a great price. The 1933 Pub & Grill is also another go to local place for dinner and their custom brew. You'll enjoy it. Monty's Pizza is outstanding, and one of our family's favorite pizza places. And yes, Publix is right down the street too where shopping is a pleasure.
If you have fur babies, we highly recommend Belcher Animal Clinic. Dr. St. John has taken care of local animals for over 20 years. They also offer grooming services too.
