Terrace Park of Five Towns started off as a development of 557 acres bought by Herman Geller in 1970. The 55+ community as grown and developed over the years. The original plan was for a 3 par golf course along with commercial and residential condominiums. The community grew over 10 years from 1977 to 1987 and has become one of the most popular active 55+ condominium communities in all of Pinellas County.
Five Towns now consists of 144.8 acres which are home to 34 condominium buildings. The condos and villas range from 610 to 1,800 sq. feet. This includes 1 and 2 bedroom units. Most of the newer buildings have screen porches. The whole community is a nature lovers paradise with ponds, large lawns, and shade trees.
The community is very active with 2 clubhouses, 6 pools (2 heated), 2 tennis courts, and 10 shuffleboard courts. This active community has a variety of clubs to join from card playing, shuffleboard tournaments, bowling, social club, billiards, and fitness workouts for all levels. There is also an RV storage and car washing area. There is even a community bus that goes on routine trips to shopping! The Magnolia clubhouse is where the largest pool is located and is also the home of the neighborhood library. Meeting rooms are also available for reservation.
The winding paths are perfect for walking and bike riding. There is a 400-acre nature preserve at the northern end of the property owned by the county which is home to bald eagles nesting for 30 years. If you want even more places to walk or bike ride, beautiful Lake Seminole Park is just 2 miles north on Park Blvd. Also, the wonderful Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is just a mile and a half south off of Park Street adjacent to the Target.
The community is conveniently located just southeast of the corner of Park Blvd and Park Street. The northern entrance is off of 62nd Ave North just east of Park Street North. The southern entrance is off of 54th Ave N just east of Park Street.
There is so much to do right around Five Towns. There is a Publix grocery store just outside the entrance on Park Street. The Park Street Retail complex is just south on the west side of Park Street. There is a Total Wine, Starbucks, Kohl's, and other shops. There is also a large and modern Target department and food store. You are less than 5 miles from Madeira Beach. There is a beachfront Snack Shack and a large parking lot at Archibald Park as you cross the Tom Stewart Causeway and arrive at Gulf Blvd.
One of our favorite Thai/Japanese restaurants is almost next door to the community. Rain Japanese Sushi Bar & Thai is located on Park Street just south of the community and 54th Avenue. The menu includes an exciting assortment of dishes from Japan and Thailand. It is locally owned and operated with friendly and attentive staff.
Tyrone Square Mall is just 3 miles south of the community off of Tyrone Blvd. It offers a nice variety of clothing and gift shops as well as restaurants and a movie theather.
This is a very active and fun 55+ community. There are so many amenities and a wide variety of social clubs to enjoy. People are very friendly and many of the individual condos also have formal or informal get-togethers.
